A couple of Blood Drive videos...

There was a blood drive at the Senior Center in Dodge City. They don't allow one to "film" the needle insertion but they (Red Cross) allows one to film the blood leaving the body. Not exactly an "Abomible Dr. Phoebes" moment but quite real!

Here is a longer version but still not an "Abomable Dr. Phoebes" moment. In January 2012, I hope to do another form of blood drive. One where they take blood out, remove the red blood cells and return the plasma. This film will show red blood, then yellow fluid working it's way back up the tube before going back to red blood. Since there is no doppler effect, you really can't tell that blood is leaving. What was that line from "DOA" by Blood Rock?

Actually, once the needle is inserted, blood donation doesn't hurt. I was just feeling morbid when I quoted these lines...
