double red on 25 January 2012
I was doing a double red donation at a Red Cross Blood Drive on 25 January 2012. They suck out whole blood, remove the red blood cells and return the plasma to the donor. They end up taking two pints worth of red blood cells and adding enough blood plasma to make up a pint of "double red". This donation process is actually less painful than the regular process.
