a painful result of last night's radiosonde release

When I did the upper air last night, the balloon surged towards me and whipped the string across my neck. That is a rather painful scratch. The string also tore off my left hearing aide (and broke it) and tossed my sunglasses about 12 feet from me and broke out one of the side lenses.
