pictures of "my" boat: YP674

I was an Officer Candidate Under Instruction class 2 (OCUI-2) at the US Navy Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhodes Island the fall of 1980. One of our jobs was to "sail" on Yard Patrol craft. Here is what I posted about this experience on a different web page:
"The only craft I commanded in the Navy. Well, sort of; I "commanded" under the supervision of some very salty officers! I still remember the obscene remark one old Warrant Officer made when he saw me standing watch at the helm for the first time..."
[What this Warrant said and what I didn't want to put on this other web page (it was a "family" orientated web page) was "you look like a monkey fucking a football" So when did this salty old fart ever see that???]

I have wanted to find more information on YPs for years yet the Navy refuses to answer my letters. You see, the Navy has a simple attitude about answering letters:
  1. Answer letters from your bosses and other people who can hurt you,
  2. Answer letters from people who
    1. might be able to hurt you,
    2. might be able to help you or
    3. have written at least twice

  3. Fart off everyone else (that is, ignore them!)
